As the Australian screen industries are increasingly pressured to operate globally, they need to adapt to the international marketplace. Co-production and collaborative opportunities exist for Australian and Chinese producers to create content that appeals to audiences in both countries.
The panel takes a detailed look at screen-based co-productions and creative collaborations between Australia, mainland China and Hong Kong and features Zoe Chen, General Manager of Ruddy Morgan Organization (China) and Sirens Productions, Shanghai; Jenni Tosi, CEO of Film Victoria; Hong Kong and US based curator and writer Sam Ho; and Mario Andreacchio, Executive Producer, Director of Adelaide Motion Picture Company (AMPCO).
These industry practitioners have previously developed successful co-productions in China. In this special event, they investigate the cultural flexibility required to make these projects successful and how best to achieve positive outcomes across production, distribution and exhibition in both countries.
The event begins at 5.30pm, and will conclude with a networking opportunity and a chance to view the spectacular new Yang Fudong: Filmscapes exhibition.
