David Rosetzky is one of Australia’s leading video artists. Discover the creative processes behind his new work Gaps in this special gallery floor talk.
Gaps was realised through creative collaboration with choreographer Stephanie Lake, two dancers and two actors. This methodology is also a feature of earlier works such as Half Brother (2013), How to Feel (2011) and Think of Yourself As Plural (2008). In this new work, Rosetzky and his collaborators explore concepts of rehearsal and performance, sameness and difference, self and other through dance, movement and speech.
Gaps is jointly commissioned by ACMI and Carriageworks. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body. Our 6.15pm, Thursday 14 August talk is included as a part of Melbourne Art Fair.
