Bring your friends to this special screening of Persepolis (Paronnaud/Satrapi, 96 mins, France) followed by an inclusive post film discussion with the Melbourne International Animation Festival director, Malcolm Turner.
Persepolis is the critically praised adaptation of Marjane Satrapi's graphic novel of the same name. The autobiographical story follows the remarkable life of an outspoken Iranian girl who grows up during the Iranian revolution. Outspoken and confident Marji's zest for life is at odds with a country in transition, but an escape to a better life is more complicated then it may first appear.
After the film, Turner will lead a broad and inclusive discussion about storytelling in animation providing a new perspective on how to engage with animated film. This is a fantastic opportunity to get an insider's view on this year's festival.
The Intermix program is for young people aged 15-20.
