This exciting workshop gives you the opportunity to work with live video, animation, VFX, creative code and cut and paste techniques. You’ll also develop the assets and learn how to create a live video performance to support the bands and performers at Signal’s Melbourne Music Week event.
This unique workshop goes beyond simple VJ techniques, and asks you to consider how to creatively use an architectural canvas. With such a large volume of projection and light festivals popping up all over the world, artists are being asked to think about their surroundings more and more when developing projection based work. When creating material we will think about the artists performing at Signal, and what type of look and feel their music inspires.
Using all manner of physical inputs including Kinect 3D scanners, we will practice the live performance and learn to improvise and jam with a variety of digital materials. Join us in creating this uniquecontent and preparing for our Melbourne Music Week debut.
Intermix is ACMI's program for young people 15 - 20. This event runs from 10am to 5pm.
