  • Site specific, interactive projection has become a mainstay at popular festivals such as White Night, Vivid, Light in Winter, Beams and the Gertrude Street Projection Festival.

In this one-day workshop, acclaimed local artist Freya Pitt uses drawing and animation to guide you in creating a simple immersive projection installation. Create a landscape made of cake, or paint a space with trees. Come and make your own world!

    About Freya Pitt

Taking up drawing at age eight in an attempt to impress the brooding and creative Brenton-from-the-year-above, Freya Pitt hasn’t stopped since. She has exhibited in galleries, completed permanent and ephemeral commissions in public spaces around Australia and internationally.

A White Night Melbourne and Gertrude Street Projection Festival regular, Freya has also covered a tram for the Melbourne Art Tram project. Freya and Brenton never worked out, but she does have more projectors than she ever dreamed of as a kid and few regrets.

This event takes place in ACMI Studio 2 between 10am and 5pm.
Intermix is ACMI’s program for young people 15 – 25.

Proudly supported by Naomi Milgrom AO.
