Having fallen foul of the pension crisis after five decades of law-abiding, tax-paying citizenship, retired couple Martha (Virginia McKenna, Born Free) and Arthur (Bernard Hill, Wolf Hall) are forced into an unexpected life of crime in this star-studded comedy heist caper.

  • Towing their Sunseeker 3000 caravan behind their trusty Rover, they map out a crime route that takes in National Trust properties along the way. As they bumble their way through a succession of bank robberies, dressed in masks and armed with cucumbers as guns, this unlikely criminal duo feel a new surge of life running through their veins.

    But, with old time detective Sid and his young sidekick Dave on the case, themselves hounded by the ruthless DI Stringer, keen to win the case for himself, the police are soon closing in. With the auction of their beloved social club looming, life is about to throw everything it’s got at our grey-haired heroes as they enrol their closest friends in an attempt to pull off their most audacious heist yet.

    Directed by John Miller (Living in Hope) and produced by Mark Foligno (The King’s Speech), this fast-paced comedy drama gathers an ensemble of renowned stars including Alun Armstrong (Braveheart), Una Stubbs (Sherlock), Philip Davis (Poldark), Sue Johnston (Downton Abbey) and Simon Callow (Four Weddings and a Funeral).
