Tickets: Full $17. Concession $13. Member $10.
  • An inspired adaptation of Mary Norton's book series The Borrowers, Arrietty is yet another triumph of animation by Studio Ghibli, the creators of Ponyo (2008) and Spirited Away (2001). The film lifts the setting from the books original 1950’s England and seamlessly transports it into Japan in 2010, without losing any of the original stories nuances where the idea of trading and ‘borrowing’ becomes an ever increasing concern in these mass-consumerist times.

English language cast includes Saoirse Ronan, Tom Holland, Olivia Colman and Mark Strong.

“With its lush colours, imaginative view of ordinary objects and meticulously crafted miniature civilization, it transports viewers to an enchanting alternate storybook reality.” - USA Today
