“A tender road movie infused with a subtle sense of loss and loneliness, Las Acacias marks an assured and gently beguiling first feature from writer/director Pablo Giorgelli...In its best moments of quiet contemplation and piercing emotion, Las Acacias ultimately earns its place in a humanist tradition that stretches from Renoir to Ray and beyond.” – Screen Daily

Rubén is a lonely truck driver who has been taking the motorway from Asunción, Paraguay to Buenos Aires, Argentina for years transporting timber. However, today's journey is different because of Jacinta, who must accompany him as his passenger all the way to Buenos Aires.
What's more, Rubén finds out that her infant daughter Anahí must also join them on their journey. As kilometres go by, the relationship between them grows, despite neither disclosing much about their lives nor asking questions.
There are few words spoken on their odyssey, but it's far from silent.
