This excellent compilation goes even deeper into the Henson vaults to explore some of the all but lost early appearances of Henson and his furry creations.
It is funny to think that like live action actors, Henson’s characters had to go through their paces in their own form of screen tests and they slowly developed and morphed through the decades – and it’s these lovely and hidden moment that make for insightful and rewarding viewing.
The wealth of material in both Muppet History 101 and Muppets 201: Rarities from the Henson Vault programs is astonishing, and Henson’s open and natural dedication to achieving nothing short of perfection through experimentation and direct contact with his audiences is enormously inspiring.
Combined with Muppets 101, this is a fantastic companion piece that delves deep into the heart of the man and his legacy.
