Created before the advent of CGI technology, this fairytale mixes Alice in Wonderland with The Wizard of Oz. David Bowie steals the show as the goblin king Jareth, whose glam rock wig and revealing tights give a nod to his former alter ego, Ziggy Stardust.

Tickets: $7. Member discounts available.
  • The story centres upon teenager Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) who lives in a dream world of magic and legend. When she teasingly wishes that goblins would take her brother away her wish comes true! The only way to get her brother back is to find her way through the Labyrinth...

Labyrinth screens every third weekend throughout the duration of the David Bowie is exhibition.

“Bowie’s presence in the film is both a complete oddity and also perfect... Bowie is marvellous as Jareth and gives the seductive yet cruel character the same otherworldly intensity that he had used for the various personae he had adopted during his music career.” - Thomas Caldwell, Cinema Autopsy
