Frequently Asked Questions
What type of ‘creatives’ are you looking for?
You could be an animator, projection artist, coder, film maker, dancer, writer or musician, so long as you are interested in collaborating in a group environment and working with the moving image!
Do I get to create my own work?
The Creative Producers Hub will be a collaborative group commissioned project. Participants will be chosen from a selection process based on skillsets and art forms that work best together.
What happens to the work after ACMI?
This work will be a one-off commissioned project to be shown to a live audience. The resulting work will be documented and kept in the ACMI archives and for the participants’ own records.
What is the format of the Creative Producers Hub?
Participants will be taken through a mentorship program by ACMI Staff and ACMI X tenants designed to give participants an overview of the equipment ACMI has to offer, as well as uncovering some possibilities of different ways to work with the moving image. This will be paired with independent working time for the concept and project development.
Where will I be based during the residency period and what are the hours?
Participants will work between ACMI and ACMI X during their two week residency. Most days will be between 11am-4pm except for 20-22nd which may require different hours to accommodate the bump in and showing of the work. There will be a break on the weekend of the 14th and 15th January.
Can you tell me a bit more about the application process?
In your application (500 words or less) we want to get a feel for your skills, interests and what type of work you would create should you be successful. Please feel free to provide links to your past work, or examples of the type of work that inspires you in your application.
When will I be notified about whether or not I am successful?
Participants will be notified in early December about whether or not they have been successful.
